A year on and Tom is still an inspiration
A year ago this week former Head Boy Tom Mitchell captained the Great Britain rugby sevens squad to a silver medal at the Rio Olympics.
It is remarkable to think 12 months has passed since that wonderful achievement, but the School remains incredibly proud of Tom’s success and hopes he will continue to inspire the next generation of sporting boys and girls as we look towards at new academic year at Worth.
Tom, who was Head Boy in 2006, did just that last September when he returned to the School to give an inspirational talk to students in assembly and help out with some sports coaching. He also showed his silver medal to the pupils and presented a Great Britain rugby shirt to the Head Master, Mr Stuart McPherson.
During his visit, Tom said: “The journey if life, of discovery is ongoing. It starts at school.”
Here are a few pictures to remind us of how Tom Mitchell made it a glorious summer for anyone who is part of the Worth community, plus some images from his return to the School in September.
