Head of Cricket pleased with preparations

Head of Cricket, Mr Raj Chaudhuri, is pleased with the way preparations are going ahead of the new season.

Worth runs cricket teams at 1st XI level, 2nd XI, an occasional 3rd XI, U15 A and B, U14 A and B, plus U13 A and B. While players of all ages aspire to reach the first team, the focus is very much on every level of cricket at Worth.

The success last summer of the U14A team winning both the Holdsworth Cup and the Lord’s Taverners Sussex Cup highlighted the rewards of working with cricketers from a young age.

Last week Krishan N was named 1st XI captain. Mr Chaudhuri has now announced Fergus A as 2nd XI captain for 2018.

Mr Chaudhuri said: “We wanted to choose the captains early, as that will help with planning. We feel it is important to identify people early so that we are always planning for the future. That is the purpose of having the Cricket Academy at Worth.”
