Historic moment for husband of Worth teacher
The husband of a Worth School teacher has become Great Britain's first ever champion in international visually impaired tennis competition.
Chris Baily, husband of Head of Physics Mrs Frances Baily, won the men's B3 singles on the last day of competition at the inaugural International Blind Tennis Tournament in Spain.
He defeated Poland's Grzegorz Korpinski 2-4, 4-2 (10-5) after a deciding match tie-break. After a nervous first set, Chris settled in the second set, moving his opponent from side to side to win some long rallies. He was always ahead in the match tie-break and competed an historic win on his own serve.
Chris's victory means he is now world No.1. Worth School would like to extend our congratulations on this tremendous achievement to both Chris and Frances Baily.
