1st XV enjoy strong finish to season

Our 1st XV rugby boys completed an excellent finish to the season with a 49-19 victory away to Caterham School making in five wins out of six since early October.

The boys produced an excellent display of skill, determination and teamwork to beat Caterham, providing a fitting conclusion to the season for the team and especially the Year 13 boys playing their last game for the School.

This victory made it four wins on the trot in the Daily Mail Trophy – following victories against The King’s School Canterbury, Sutton Valence School and Eastbourne College – and five in six matches including a National Plate win at Caterham School. Their only defeat in that sequence was also in the National Plate.

Worth has a proud history of rugby. In the 2024-25 academic year, both the 1st XV and the U15A teams reached national quarter-finals, while the 1st XV won 13 matches out of 15.

In addition to a great finish to the season for the 1st XV this year, the 2nd XV went through the season unbeaten with seven wins from seven.

Well done to this season’s 1st XV squad.

Thank you to former student Matthew Laird for these excellent pictures.
