Another excellent Careers Fair

A wide range of speakers, including Worth alumni and parents, visited the School this week to contribute to an excellent two-day Careers and Further Education Fair for Year 12 students.

On each of the two days there was an opportunity for students to join small-group talks with speakers representing a variety of careers including medicine, law, banking, finance, insurance, events management, property and the Armed Forces.

There were also talks about apprenticeships, as well as university advice including applications to Oxbridge, American and European universities, the UCAS process and preparing a personal statement.

On the second day there was an alumni panel of five recent leavers who spoke to current students about their varying paths since leaving Worth including university, employment, studying overseas and post graduate applications.

There was also a presentation from our alumni association, Worth Society, about the Global Action Award, which supports charitable work by Worthians, and a guest speaker from the Bhupesi Pride Foundation, which aims to transform lives in Africa through education and sport. The event also included guest speaker Dale Willis giving a presentation about using LinkedIn.

The event provided our students with excellent insight and opportunities for their journeys beyond Worth.
