Another success for Debating Society

Worth is celebrating another excellent debating success after our students won the senior competition at the Rotary Youth Speaks District Semi Final last week.

The event was hosted at Worth and our team of three Year 11 students will now go forward to represent Meridian Rotary in the District Final in Reigate on Saturday 1 March.

Head of English Mrs Dawn Clubb, who runs the Debating Society at Worth, said: “Our students spoke very well. It is important to note that the team had to change its make-up in the last fortnight due to other members being on school trips or away. This is an excellent achievement.”

We wish them every success when representing the School in the District Final.

Worth runs a thriving Debating Society and there have been several successes to celebrate in recent years including winning the Ethics Cup, a national debating competition, in 2022 and the Hartland International Debating Competition in 2024.
