Sixth Form students enjoyed a range of hugely informative talks at a two-day Careers and Further Education event hosted by Worth last week.
All of Year 12 took part in this annual event which was part of our Activity Week programme.
Guest speakers, including Worth alumni and parents, came to the School to deliver talks on a variety of careers including investment banking, law, medicine, cyber insurance, politics, civil service, physiotherapy, robotics, marketing, aviation and the Armed Forces. Meanwhile, two former students returned to talk about degree apprenticeships.
There were also sessions on UCAS, personal statements, using LinkedIn and apprenticeships generally, while Mrs Mary Lou Burge, who runs Worth Society, gave a talk about how the School’s alumni association offers lifelong support to former students in the shape of careers advice, business networking and keeping in touch socially.
Meanwhile, 2024 leaver Misha Hawksley came in to speak about volunteering he has been undertaking since leaving Worth thanks to the Global Action Award, which is a bursary programme run by Worth Society to provide funding for alumni to undertake an extended volunteering project with a recognised charity/organisation at any stage of their life.
Thank you to all our guest speakers for helping to make this another highly successful event.
