Another successful DofE expedition

A group of Worth pupils successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze Qualifying Expedition on Ashdown Forest last weekend.

This expedition had been rearranged from June when the country was in the middle of a heatwave, making such challenges unadvisable in the conditions.

The Bronze Award of the DofE is typically for Year 9 pupils and focuses on personal development, building life skills and teamwork. It normally takes at least six months to complete and is highly valued by universities and employers because it demonstrates commitment, leadership and problem-solving.

Worth runs a large and active DofE programme with almost a third of pupils taking part each year at the three levels – Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Here is a selection of pictures from the expedition.
