Worth ran another successful Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Qualifying Expedition with 10 Sixth Form students taking on the challenges of Dartmoor.
The School is proud of its commitment to deliver the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme for Year 9 upwards at Bronze, Silver and Gold level. Next week Year 9 pupilsd will take part in their Bronze Qualifying Expedition on Ashdown Forest.
The DofE is a challenging programme of personal development which involves volunteering, undertaking a physical activity, acquiring skills and taking part in an expedition. It supports our mission to develop the whole person, providing young people with challenges and opportunities.
Universities and employers will look favourably on young people who have achieved a DofE certificate. Almost a third of students at Worth take part in the DofE each year and those completing their Gold Award are invited to attend a celebration event at Buckingham Palace to mark their achievement.
