Worth athletes produced a number of excellent performances when they competed in the Inters Track and Field Cup at K2 Crawley this week.
A team comprising Year 9 and 10 students started with the field events, with notable mentions to Archie in the discus throwing a massive 49.92m and scoring the highest points of the day, Joe coming first in the shot put with 11.53m, Bea competing for the first time in the triple jump with a jump of 6.64m and Poppy jumping 3.58m in the long jump.
In the afternoon the team moved on to the track events, with Ewan placing second in his heat of the 100m, Austin gaining a PB in the 1500m with a time of 4.35m, Kati competing fantastically in her 1500m and Emma making small personal time gains in her 100m.
Well done to all who represented the School.
Worth has a strong athletics programme, with senior athletes competing in the Sussex Independent Schools Diamond League each year. The final of that competition will be taking place at Withdean Stadium on Saturday.
