An excellent term of music at Worth was celebrated with the presentation of music colours ties and Schola Cantorum ties.
Music colours ties are awarded primarily for commitment and contribution to the School’s instrumental ensembles such as the orchestra, concert band and many other smaller chamber groups. Students who are awarded these ties will have been role models in their attitude, attendance and involvement in instrumental ensemble music. They will have demonstrated their commitment to a wide range of groups throughout their time in the School.
Schola Cantorum ties are awarded primarily for commitment and contribution to choral singing and through sustained service in the Worth School Schola Cantorum. All the students awarded music ties should exemplify the school values of humility, community, service and worship through their work in the Music department.
In the final assembly of the Lent Term, a number of Year 13 students were presented with ties. Congratulations to all the recipients.
The Lent Term at Worth included our annual Scholars’ Concert, the termly Ensembles Concert, the Chamber Choir singing Evensong at Chichester Cathedral, the Worth Musician of the Year semi-final, Schola Cantorum leading the annual Lenten service of Tenebrae, House Bands, an Informal Woodwind and Brass Concert plus an Informal Drums and Guitar Concert.
The Music department also runs a biennial music tour overseas and this summer there will be a Choir, Orchestra and Bands tour to Lake Garda in Italy in the summer.
