St Mary's House
at Worth

St Mary's is the girls' boarding house at Worth. The House has a large and dedicated pastoral team made up of Housemistress Mrs Rebecca Steinebach supported by Miss Jo Barnes (Deputy Housemistress) and three boarding tutors: Mrs Natalie Lynch (Head of Drama), Miss Naomy Larkin (English) and Miss Iria Carnota (Spanish). We have two matrons, Mrs Nikki Webb and Mrs Jayne Summerfield, and our House Chaplain, Br David Jarmy.

St Mary's has a strong, friendly, family atmosphere in which each girl has the opportunity to develop a sense of belonging and identity through community, worship, hospitality and service founded in the Benedictine tradition. Every girl has a part to play: whether collecting bread or doing the washing up, every individual is a valued part of a larger community, with a caring and supportive atmosphere across all year groups.

Through early leadership opportunities, many of our girls go on to take up prefect positions in their final year. Our girls excel both on the sports field and in the classroom, and aim to give their best in everything, ready for the exciting challenges they will encounter in their future lives.

One year ago St Mary’s moved into new accommodation offering excellent facilities for the girls with every room having its own en suite bathroom. There is a modern and bright study area downstairs and a wonderfully spacious common room for the girls to socialise in.
