Boarding thriving at Worth

Worth School

Worth is proud of its boarding provision, having been named Boarding School of the Year last October, and we now offer flexi options for boys and girls in Year 9 onwards subject to availability.

During a recent photoshoot at the School, professional photographer Liz Finlayson took a number of pictures to highlight girls’ boarding, which is currently thriving. From September, St Mary’s Sixth will be at its largest ever with more than 50 girls.

We have five boarding Houses at Worth: St Mary’s is split in two Houses, Middles and Sixth, plus there are three boys’ boarding Houses – Gervase, Rutherford and St Bede’s. Flexi boarding for boys is offered in Butler House while flexi boarding for girls is in St Mary’s.

We were delighted to be named Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year awards last October. This was a reward for our work over a number of years to constantly evolve our provision for boarders.

Then in January boarding at Worth was highlighted in a glowing ISI Inspection Report, with the accolade 'highly effective' given to the ‘leadership of boarding’ as well as the ‘management of boarding’.

Worth has a Head of Boarding, Mr Alick Macleod, who organises activities and events for boarders on Saturday evenings. Our broad-ranging weekend programme also offers activities, trips and social events on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and Sundays.
