Two of our pupils did Worth proud when they competed in the national finals of English Schools Cross Country Championships.

Both Alexander Ballard and Lucas Gorrill had qualified from regional events to represent Sussex in the finals at Hop Farm, Paddock Wood in Kent. Both had to overcome illness leading up to the finals, while Lucas also had a trip to A&E after having a running spike pushed down the side of his Achilles heel when he ran in the National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill.

Despite this, they both ran superbly at Hop Farm with Lucas placing 148th out of 330, making him second in Sussex, while Alexander was 205th and seventh in Sussex.

Well done boys.
