Boys show qualities in final

Congratulations to a team of three Year 11 students who represented the Senior Debating Society superbly in the Rotary Youth Speaks District Final.

The boys debated their relevant and well-structured motion with confidence, eloquence and conviction. Although Worth did not win, the results were extremely close with just a few points separating the first three teams.

Well done to the boys for a top quality, engaging and well researched debating performance.  Thanks also to Worth teacher Mrs Julie Fleming who stepped in at the last minute when the organisers were short of a questioner.

Worth runs a thriving Debating Society and there have been several successes to celebrate in recent years including winning the Ethics Cup, a national debating competition, in 2022 and the Hartland International Debating Competition in 2024.
