Boys in Butler will be taking part in a 12-hour 5-a-side football marathon on Sunday in support of their House charity, Ace Africa.
All boys in the House will be contributing to the marathon, which will take place in the Sports Hall this weekend.
Ace Africa delivers life-changing football projects across rural East Africa. In Arusha, Tanzania Ace Africa have just kicked off their annual 10-week football league which was set up eight years ago with the vision to support the most vulnerable children living in remote parts of northern Tanzania, where life can be quite harsh. Issues such as early marriage, child labour and FGM are a few of the daily experiences these young people have to face. The football league provides these children with a fun outlet to build their confidence, develop new skills and learn to work as a team. In addition to providing football training to teachers, equipment, kit and professional football coaching, Ace Africa also equips the children with essential child right tools and referrals to counselling for those who need additional support.
Butler boys are hoping to raise £2,500 to fund one team of girls and boys from one school to take part in this football initiative. If you can support them please go to their JustGiving page.
