How did you feel when you got your results? Very happy. It’s a strange moment, because two years of work comes down to a few numbers on a screen. I had worked hard towards the goal of having good grades, so it was good to see that pay off. Once I had seen how it had gone, what I mostly felt was gratitude towards the people who helped me get there.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? In two ways. First, the teachers. Classes are small enough that they notice when something hasn’t landed and the follow-up after that is genuinely personal. You get targeted feedback and if it still isn’t clicking you can always go back for extra explanation outside lessons. Second, the boarding house gives you a rhythm. When everyone around you is working through prep, you end up working too. And as Head of House in Rutherford I had other responsibilities on top of my own work, so I learned quickly that putting things off wasn’t an option.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I loved it. For me it was mainly the friendships and the sense of community. I was a full boarder and often stayed at school over the weekends, so you get to know people in a way you never would if you went home every night. That’s what stays with me, not the exams.
What are you hoping to do next? I’m going to study engineering at KU Leuven. In the Belgian system you don’t choose your specialisation until after the first year, so I’m keeping that open until I know what I enjoy most.

I was therefore not expecting to see that, for the most part, they did in fact go well. It was, however, the moment that marked the end of my journey at Worth, so it was definitely a mix of relief and sadness.

At Worth, we are immersed in an atmosphere in which students are truly cared about; one could only say it is an atmosphere of deep harmony, inclusion and kindness. How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? My five years at Worth have been the most enjoyable of my life so far. It is truly difficult to express in just a few words everything that Worth has to offer, but all I can say is that there is something for everyone, and Worth does an impeccable job of finding out what that is for each student, then helping them reach their full potential. I have never seen this done in the way Worth does this anywhere else – by truly caring about each and every person on campus.

Well further than just these academic results, Worth has offered me and many others so many possibilities, ranging from sports to arts, music to friendships, that I can without a doubt say I very much enjoyed my time there. It is hard to quantify this but I could not have asked for any better setting in which to finish my education.

How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth really helped to achieve good grades through a great community. This includes the competent teachers who were personally engaged in the journey of each student, but also the peers. I think this especially applies in boarding, where you are always surrounded by others who have the same subjects or older pupils who could help you when you had a question.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I greatly enjoyed my time at Worth, because it offers so much more than a typical school. For me, it was always about trying out something new like rugby, clay shooting or debating, where you always meet new people as well. And for anyone still undecided whether they should do boarding or be a day student, the most fun part of the school day only starts after school finishes. Like playing football on the Astro, going to the gym or beating your mate in a game of tennis.
