Celebrating British Science Week 2026
Tue, Mar 17th, 2026
Students have been taking part in a range of fun experiments as Worth celebrates British Science Week.
The Biology, Chemistry and Physics departments organised an engaging programme of activities to mark this annual event. This included an experiment to see how insulators work, making slime – which is a polymer chemistry experiment based on cross-linking long chain molecules to change a liquid into a semi-solid – and a discussion on whether wolves should be re-introduced into the wild.
British Science Week is an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths. Its aim is to foster curiosity, to raise STEM awareness and to inspire the next generation of scientists.
