Worth students are celebrating another fine year of A Level results, with a marked increase in the percentage of grades being awarded at A*-B. Twelve pupils achieved an impressive three grades at A*-A. This follows last month’s strong showing in the IB Diploma.
Most students have had their places confirmed at some of the world’s leading universities, and to read a broad range of subjects, with Durham University and the University of Exeter proving to be this year’s most popular destinations.
Deputy Head (Academic), Dr Daniel Coughlan, commented: “Congratulations to the students and staff for this year’s A Level and IB results. In many subjects, including English Literature and Further Maths, 100% of grades were awarded at A*-B. In the IB, 100% of pupils passed the Diploma, with both an increase in the average level and a good number of pupils achieving over 40 points, which is equivalent to four A* grades at A Level. There was a similarly strong showing in the Business BTEC. This is testament to a great deal of hard work and dedication over the last two years.”
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Matthew Doggett, commented: “Today’s A Level and BTEC results, alongside those in the International Baccalaureate, have enabled the vast majority of Worth leavers to take up their places at one of their chosen universities, with the clear majority securing their first choice university. Congratulations to all our Year 13 leavers!”
