Community Service

At Worth the value of delaying gratification, putting the needs of others first and choosing to deny oneself are particularly important. Pupils discover their passions, what they care about and are empowered to do something about it. All pupils are encouraged to see themselves as an asset and involvement in service enables them to make a positive difference in their own and the wider community.

From volunteering in primary schools and on environmental projects, to caring for the elderly and charity fundraising, opportunities exist for all year groups to engage in meaningful service activities throughout each year in their time at Worth.

The experience of authentic Christian living, closely entwined with Worth’s values, engenders care for other human beings and also for the infinite species of our planet. This goes from the very simplest of tasks – such as responsibility to recycle well, to only use what is needed, to engage with nature in a loving manner – all the way up to how to challenge those negative behaviours and social norms that promote destruction of nature. Opportunities exist for pupils to be involved in such environmental activities as woodland and farm management, animal husbandry and conservation along with outdoor recreational activities such as orienteering and camp-craft skills.
