Cricket awards 2026
Thu, Jul 2nd, 2026
Worth celebrated another successful year of cricket with our annual awards evening which included the presentation of trophies to the best batter, best bowler and player of the year.
The 1st XI played 20 fixtures during the Summer Term, winning 11 and drawing two. They won the Langdale Division Two Cup and finished runners-up at the Emeriti Schools Festival in Yorkshire, which they took part in for the first time. Success on the field was partly achieved through the work put in throughout the winter.
Congratulations to Percy who collected the Best Batter award and to 1st XI captain Charlie Grant who won Best Bowler and Player of the Year which he earned with his batting, bowling, fielding and captaincy.
Cricket at Worth is led by Mr Raj Chaudhuri, a Level 4 coach and former professional cricketer.
Worth also ran a 1st XI girls’ team this year which played three fixtures, winning two and drawing one. Victories came against Ardingly College and Farlington School. Well done girls.
