Worth’s Debating Society enjoyed another successful evening by winning the senior division at the Youth Speaks competition hosted by East Grinstead Meridian Rotary.
The School had two teams competing in what was our first face-to-face debating competition of the year, with both of our teams taking part of the senior division. Both teams spoke very well and one of the teams won the senior division presenting their motion: The research and development of transhumanism should be supported by public funds rather than private funds.
This means that Worth will progress to the semi-final of the competition which takes place in Worthing on 12 February.
Congratulations to our winning team and to all of our students who took part.
The Debating Society is just one of the many society choices available to pupils through our co-curricular programme.
