Co-Curriculum
Worth School

All pupils can take part in drama productions.

Although many students who join Worth already have a passion for performing, the Drama department prides itself on helping every pupil experience the power of performing and the impact that this can have on a child’s experience at school, their confidence and belief in themselves. All pupils at Worth have the opportunity to take part in large and small school productions every year and they will experience a range of different genres and styles from musicals to contemporary theatre. Most of the productions take place in the superbly equipped Performing Arts Centre and they allow students of all ages to be involved on the stage. Being part of a production at Worth is more than just an opportunity to perform, it is a chance to build new relationships, work in a team and be part of something fun, creating memories they will have for life.

Pupils are also given the opportunity to take on a backstage role, working with our Theatre Manager to learn all about technical theatre. Each production has a team of pupil technicians who take on a backstage role throughout the rehearsal period and on the evenings of the shows. Being part of the technical team is just as valued as being a member of the cast.

Worth’s own theatre workshop company provides pupils with further opportunities to explore their passion for the performing arts and take part in masterclasses which will help develop their skills to the next level.
