An excellent set of IB exam results

Worth School

We are so proud of our students who are celebrating another excellent set of results in this year’s IB examinations, with one third of our students gaining a points average in excess of 40 points.

A score of 38 or more is the equivalent to five A grades at A Level. This represents an increase upon last year’s IB results which were based on Predicted Grades.

There was a 100% pass rate among our cohort and almost half of the cohort achieved the prestigious bilingual diploma. The average points total was 36.2, again, up from last year. This compares very favourably with the global average of 33.02. Our average score equates to three A grades at A Level. Our IB students have now accepted offers at many of the top international universities including Cambridge, UCL, the LSE and Wake Forest.

Mrs Alice McNeill, Deputy Head (Academic), said: “The IB programme at Worth continues to flourish and our results continue to rise. Despite all of the international disruption and all of the challenges in the wake of the pandemic, our students have performed very strongly. We are particularly delighted that one third of the students have attained a grade average above 40 points.”

Dr Bruna Gushurst-Moore, Assistant Head (Sixth Form) and IB Coordinator, said: “Congratulations to our IBDP students on another brilliant set of examination results! This has been a particularly challenging cycle, with most of you sitting your first ever formal examinations and some of you having joined us mid-programme. Despite all of these challenges, these results are our strongest yet.”
