Food bank initiative a big success

Boys in Butler House yesterday presented a cheque for £2,400 to the St Vincent de Paul Society, a charity in Crawley which reaches out to those in need in our area.

The funds were raised as part of a school-wide food bank initiative run by the boys, with support from Friends of Worth. Equally impressive were the amounts of non-perishable food, toiletries and domestic goods that were donated by the Worth community and which needed a transit van to transport them from the School.

Housemaster Mr Bruce Morrison said: “We are so grateful for the donations received. This hasn’t been just a Butler House initiative but something that the wider school has achieved. It’s a great example of what we can do when we all pull together.”

Although the appeal is now closed for physical donations, parents can make a financial donation via the School’s main bank Account: HSBC Sort code: 40-18-22 A/c number 22126532. Please use the reference ‘Butler FoW Charity’.
