Former Worth School student Oli Jacobs is celebrating winning two more Grammy Awards at a star-studded awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

The hugely successful recording/mixing engineer had been nominated for four Grammys this year for his work with Kendrick Lamar and Sabrina Carpenter. He ultimately took home the awards for Best Album of the Year for Kendrick Lamar’s Luther and Best RAP Album of the Year, also for Kendrick Lamar’s GNX.

These bring Oli’s total number of Grammys to five, having been nominated an incredible 11 times.

Oli, who was in Farwell House and left in 2010, said: “The amazing thing about being nominated for a Grammy is that it is one of the few awards where you are judged by your peers.”

His advice for people thinking about a career in the music industry is that there is a lot happening and therefore lots of opportunity, you just need to work harder than everybody else.

Worth is incredibly proud of the career and achievements Oli has gone on to enjoy. After leaving the School, he studied Sound Recording & Music at the University of Surrey. After graduating in 2014 he spent eight years working at Real World Studios, the recording facility created by Peter Gabriel in a stunning rural setting near Bath, working his way up to head engineer. He is now a freelance mixing engineer based in LA and works with a range of artists including Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.
