A good term for football

Worth 1st XI footballers capped off a strong season by retaining the Henry Surtees Cup, beating Old Worthians 3-1 in the traditional end of season event.

Fielding a much-changed team due to illness and injury, a number of Year 11 players and 2nd XI boys acquitted themselves well alongside the more experienced first teamers, with Anu, Will and Billy scoring the goals.

Overall, the first team enjoyed an excellent Lent Term, only losing a single game to finish runners-up in the Sussex and Kent Independent School League. The character shown throughout the squad was evidenced by the number of very late equalisers and winning goals they scored during the campaign. The final league game of the season saw the team overcome St Dunstan’s 1-0 to secure second spot.
