A Year 12 student has spoken of the great experience it was to be involved in helping to organise an innovative educational event in Poland earlier this month.

Econverse is a start-up simulation event founded by two students from Minerva University. It aims to promote entrepreneurship and educate young people on the start-up founding process. This year’s edition was the first and took place at the National Stadium in Warsaw, gathering 100 participants aged 16 to 20 years old.

Worth student Simon Florek, who is a recently appointed Academic Prefect, was invited to be part of the team delivering this interesting event.

He said: “I had the pleasure to be part of the Merit Team, tasked with preparing worksheets, study guides and assessment criteria. By working with Polish students from renowned universities such as Oxford University and the London School of Economics, I had a chance to gain project management skills and improve my conceptual thinking. I also had an opportunity to network with our prominent guest speakers from all over the world.

“The skills and knowledge I acquired at Econverse will be a big asset in my future career. I am sure I will also have an opportunity to use them at Worth in various group projects.”

Well done Simon.
