An excellent year of sport at Worth was celebrated with the presentation of a number of awards.

In the final assembly of the academic year last week, Director of Sport Mr David Burton reflected on a number of team and individual cricket successes, numerous medals for the athletics team at the Sussex Independent Schools Diamond League and a good season for the senior tennis boys with six wins from 11 games.

Earlier in the year, there was much to celebrate for rugby at Worth with the 2nd XV rugby team enjoying an unbeaten season, the U15s winning the Sussex Cup, the U14s becoming Sussex Sevens champions and the girls’ rugby team competing at the national sevens for the first time as well as reaching the Plate final at the Worthing Sevens.

In addition to this, the 1st XI football team finished runners-up in the Sussex and Kent Independent School League, while the U14 team also finished second in their league and reached the quarter-final of the County Cup.

In assembly last Friday, Full Colours and Half Colours were presented for a number of sports, along with individual MVP and MIP awards, and the Mitchell Shields were presented to recognise the most outstanding contributions to sport made by an individual boy and girl.

Here are just a few pictures from the presentations. Well done to all our winners and to all pupils who represented the School in any sport, at any level, over the past year.
