Head of Football wins fourth world title

Congratulations to Worth’s Head of Football Mr Daniel Collins who has become a world champion for the fourth time.

Mr Collins coached the Great Britain Medical Football Team – a national representative squad made up of current non-league footballers and former academy players turned doctors – to their fifth successive final at the World Medical Football Championships in Dublin. It was the team’s fourth win during Mr Collins’ tenure as head coach.

Great Britain defeated hosts Ireland on penalties in the final, held at the UCD Bowl. The British team had earlier topped their group containing Austria, Panama and Argentina, before defeating Australia in the quarter-final and overcoming Brazil in the semi-final.

Well done Mr Collins.

A UEFA A Licence coach and FA coach developer, Mr Collins runs a thriving football programme for boys and girls at Worth.
