Music at Worth was showcased superbly at our annual House Bands event last Friday when the talent on show provided one of the most closely contested competitions in years.
House Bands is the second part of our annual House Music competition and an overall winner is found by adding the scores from this event to those from House Shout earlier in the academic year, when all members of the Houses performed as ensembles.
The boys of Farwell won House Bands on Friday with their performance of All the Small Things by Blink-182 but only two marks separated the top three on the scorecard of our guest adjudicator David Swinson, Director Emeritus of Trinity Boys’ Choir, conductor, adjudicator and organist/pianist.
St Catherine’s were joint second on the evening with Rutherford and, having won House Shout in November, St Cats took the overall title of House Music champions 2024-25.
In announcing the winners, Mr Swinson spoke about the “very high standard of competition”, our “incredibly talented students” and the “fantastic sense of community” in evidence on the evening.
Congratulations to all Houses who performed. Worth’s Director of Music, Mr Lewis Brito-Babapulle, said: “The standard was the highest in my time at Worth.”
Thank you to student Matthew Laird for additional photography.
