Worth School

Kind-hearted Worth students are running two fundraisers this week to assist the School’s ongoing support of the Farsee Korma Public School in Liberia through the charity Mary’s Meals.

Tomorrow a group of Year 9 and 10 students will be running a Sugar Rush Food Sale and on Friday another group will be organising a Long Hole Golf Competition in Worth’s indoor golf facility.

Both events will raise money for Mary’s Meals, which is one of Worth’s chosen charities. Mary’s Meals runs programmes in 19 countries where poverty and hunger often prevent children from gaining an education. By providing children with one meal every day they attend school, the charity offers young people hope and, through education, a possible route out of poverty.

It costs £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year and since 2017 Worth has been raising enough money to ensure every child at the Farsee Korma Public School gets a nourishing meal every day they attend school.

Our latest pictures from the Farsee Korma Public School show how much of a meaningful difference Worth’s fundraising is making.

Such is the generosity of the Worth community through whole school events and smaller fundraising initiatives such as the two this week, we have also been supporting a second school – Chibale School in Zambia – for the past year in addition to Farsee.

Service is one of Worth’s six values which permeate through the daily lives of students and staff at the School. Well done to the Year 9 and 10 students for what they are doing this week.
