As part of our Drama teaching at Worth, all pupils have the opportunity to enrol on the LAMDA programme which is a fantastic way for young people to gain confidence and skills for life.
LAMDA – which stands for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art – is one of the oldest drama schools in the world and they also offer young people the opportunity to take external graded examinations in communication and performance skills.
Here at Worth, we offer weekly LAMDA lessons with specialist teachers, either one-to-one or in a small group format, leading to examinations at all levels from grade 1 to grade 8. Typical areas of interest lie in developing skills in acting and performance, in public speaking and the public speaking of poetry and prose. At a higher level, examinations also offer the advantage of gaining UCAS points.
