Worth teacher is a world cup winner

England have missed out on winning the World Cup but Worth Head of Football Mr Daniel Collins is celebrating after winning a global competition.

Mr Collins is also head coach of the Great Britain side that has just won the Medical World Championships in Prague, defeating the top seeded hosts and winners of the last three tournaments Czech Republic 2-0 in the final. Previous to this, Great Britain had beaten the second and third seeds, having topped their group, and they finished the competition undefeated.

The tournament involved teams of fully qualified medical doctors from 24 nations including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Sweden and USA.

Mr Collins has made a positive impact at Worth since joining last September, including introducing football for girls. A respected UEFA B qualified coach, he has also worked at Arsenal’s development centre and this summer will be running a soccer camp at Worth. More details here.
