Learning about Tudor England

Fri, May 9th, 2025
Worth School

A chance to explore Henry VIII’s apartments and an opportunity to show their impressive debating skills were among the highlights of a Year 7 History trip to Hampton Court Palace.

The trip last week allowed our pupils to learn more about Tudor England. They were treated to a new session – the first group to have it – called ‘Secrets of Hampton Court’, which they gave them an understanding of how Hampton Court has been used since the Tudor times.

They also enjoyed an excellent session looking at the cases for Lady Jane Grey and Mary Queen of Scots to be queen and it was during this session that they used their debating skills. As well as exploring Henry VIII’s apartments, the day also included some time in the famous maze.

This was an excellent trip for our pupils, complementing what they have been learning in the classroom.

Trips are an important part of the education package at Worth.
