London galleries trip helps artists

There was an excellent London Art galleries trip for Year 11 students in the first week in the Lent Term.

The trip supported Year 11 Visual Arts and Photography students in their exam studies. Art students went to Tate Modern, where they engaged with the Permanent Collection, the Emily Kam Kngwarray exhibition and the Nigerian Modernism showcase.

Meanwhile, Photography students visited the Lee Miller exhibition at Tate Britain and The Photographers’ Gallery in Oxford Circus, gaining insight into influential artists and photographers.

These experiences are invaluable as students explore the work of other artists – a key assessment criterion for the GCSE Art and Design courses, which they will sit at the end of April.
