Politics students attend conference

Sixth Form A Level Politics students this week attended the biannual Polecon Conference in London where they heard from a diverse range of speakers from across the political spectrum.

The day included talks from the leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski; co-founder of Your Party, Zarah Sultana; Westminster City Councillor and 2028 London Mayoral candidate for Reform UK, Laila Cunningham; Alastair Campbell of the Rest is Politics and the former Director of Communications for Tony Blair; Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Daisy Cooper; and former Conservative MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Students found the talks and the Q&As highly engaging and informative, particularly as they were focused on contemporary events from the recent by-election in Gorton and Denton to intervention in the Middle East.

Our students came away with plenty of case study examples to include in their exams, as well as a further reinforcement of their own content knowledge.

Politics is offered at Worth at both A Level and the IB Diploma.
