Preparing students for university

Wed, May 4th, 2022
Worth School

Two former Worth students were among the speakers at a highly informative ‘Moving On’ event designed to help current Year 13 students with the transition from school to university.

Anthony Jones and Sophie Ritchie, who are now studying Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Medicine respectively at Imperial College London, joined the event remotely to give the current cohort top tips about their first year of university life.

The morning also included talks on ‘Preparing for academic life’ by Mrs Alice McNeill (Deputy Head Academic) and ‘Life skills, social life and expectations’ by Mr Hugo Sutton and Mr Joe Huntley. Other sessions included advice on student finances, personal wellbeing and a talk from Mrs Mary Lou Burge about the support the Worth Society can give students as they progress through university and into careers.

The event took place in the Spencer Building, our fabulous new Sixth Form Centre and library.
