Professional musician chooses finalists

Mon, Mar 10th, 2025
Worth School

Every year we run a Worth Musician of the Year competition to showcase our talented musicians and this year’s finalists were decided at a keenly contested semi-final judged by professional musician Polly May last Thursday.

The semi-finalists performed solos from a wide range of styles from classical to music theatre and rock, with seven different Houses within the School represented.

From those who performed in the Coleburt Room, four finalists were chosen by guest adjudicator Polly May, an esteemed mezzo-soprano, composer and vocal coach who has also worked as director of music in secondary schools.

The final will take place on Friday 16 May and will be contested by a flutist, a drummer, an organist and a pianist.

Well done to all who performed last week.
