Students claim University Challenge bragging rights

Students impressed with their all-round knowledge to claim victory in Worth’s inaugural Students versus Staff University Challenge match.

Last Friday’s charity event followed the introduction of a House University Challenge competition this academic year.

An ‘All Stars’ student team comprised those who particularly impressed during the House competition, with the four chosen representing four different Houses. They faced a staff team captained by Mr Matthew Doggett (Assistant Head Sixth Form) and including Interim Head Ms Marisa Bosa, Mrs Bethany Browning and Mr Chris Wyles.

While the staff team began well, the students clawed back an early deficit to finish strongly, winning by 590 points to 550.

The event raised money for the school charity Mary’s Meals, with students paying £2.50 each to be in the audience.
