Students return for sporting fixtures

It was lovely to welcome many former students back on to campus last Saturday to play rugby, hockey and netball fixtures as part of our annual Welcome Festival.

The matches were arranged by our award-winning alumni association, Worth Society, in collaboration with the Sports department and they included alumni fixtures against the 1st XI hockey team and 1st XII netball team, as well as an ‘older versus younger’ Old Worthians rugby match.

Trophies for each of the fixtures were presented at the end of the festival by Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson.

The Worth Society also had a stall at the festival to showcase the ongoing work they do to enable former students to stay in touch with one another for business and social networking purposes, providing careers advice, support and lifelong guidance. Each year the Society organises a variety of networking evenings, reunion dinners and social events, as well as running alumni sports clubs for cricket, football, golf, netball, rugby and tennis.
