Students volunteer in Uganda
Mon, Nov 20th, 2023
Two of our students spent time during the recent half term holiday volunteering at a primary school in Uganda.
Jacob Fearon (Year 12, Farwell) and sister Eliza (Year 9, St Anne’s) took part in an amazing aid trip with the charity Nkuringo Community and Education Support. They led lessons in a primary school in Nkuringo, handed out aid directly to the pupils and helped build a house for a Batwa – the Batwa people being one of the earliest ethnic groups to live in Uganda.
The children at the primary school were particularly pleased with sports kit kindly donated by Worth’s Director of Sport, Mr David Burton. Jacob and Eliza did a fantastic job and have been asked to go back in the future.
Well done Jacob and Eliza.
