While Worth was delighted to win Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year awards last October, we are also very much invested in providing a first-rate educational experience for day students.
Day students can experience the best of both worlds. They are fully engaged in the life of the School, including all activities on offer for boarders in the evening and at the weekend, or they can commit to their out-of-school interests and activities on Saturday mornings instead of coming into school if they so wish. They share lessons and lunches with boarders, form friendships with our international boarders from around the world and they play compulsory sports fixtures together at weekends as well as having the same access to our range of educational trips and visits.
As well as a Junior House for Years 7 and 8, we have five day Houses for boys and girls, which offer communal areas, kitchen facilities and study spaces, while each House has a matron in addition to a Housemaster or Housemistress who has overall responsibility for students’ pastoral care. A large fleet of minibuses can bring day students to and from school, if that helps parents, and there are currently flexi boarding options for boys, with plans to introduce the same for girls.
A Sixth Form student, regardless of whether they are a day or boarding student, enjoys a transformational pre-university experience, with the choice of studying A Levels or the IB Diploma, along with university entrance support, careers advice and access to the full networking opportunities provided by an award-winning alumni association once they have completed Year 13.
