U15 rugby boys win Sussex Cup

Many congratulations to our U15 rugby boys who won the Sussex Cup with a fantastic 32-15 victory over Hurst College in the final at Brighton Rugby Club yesterday.

It was a tremendous team performance from the boys who had beaten The Weald School, Forest School and Heathfield Community College on their way to the final.

The boys started slowly in the final against Hurst and fell 5-0 behind early on, but they soon began to exert their authority on the game and led at half-time thanks to a penalty and a try. A second try early in the second half put Worth in control and they never looked in any danger of losing from there on. The tries came from Tate (two), Felix (two) and Tadgh.

Director of Sport, Mr David Burton, who coaches the U15 team, said: “I am very proud of all the hard work the boys have put in and they thoroughly deserved their victory. It was a great team performance.”

This is the latest in a number of successes for rugby at Worth in recent times, both with teams winning trophies and a growing number of students achieving representative honours.
