Each year Geography students take part in field trips as part of the curriculum and a group of Year 10 students, along with some Year 11 Pre-IB students, recently visited the ecologically significant West Wittering beach to conduct coastal field work.
This trip is an important part of the course, allowing students to practise collecting primary data in a coastal environment.
West Wittering, in West Sussex, is an award-winning, unspoiled sandy beach which is critical for conservation, featuring the East Head sand dunes which are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), protecting a rare sand dune system that acts as a natural coastal barrier.
Trips are an important part of the education package at Worth, offering learning opportunities to complement what is taught within the classroom.
