Worth School

Worth students have a great deal to celebrate today. Many pupils have achieved straight A*-A grades at A Level, with some achieving three or even four A* grades.

Pupils are now heading to some of the UK’s leading universities to read a variety of different subjects, including Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial, Modern Languages or Economics and Mathematics at Durham, and Biochemistry or Mathematics at UCL. This is after last month’s strong IB Diploma results, in which a number of pupils achieved over 40 points, which is the equivalent of 4 A* grades at A Level, and Worth celebrated its best average since 2017. Many of these pupils will also now go on to study at some of the world’s top universities.

Deputy Head Academic Dr Daniel Coughlan commented: “Many congratulations to the students and staff for this year’s A Level and IB Diploma results. There are some extremely impressive results from individual students and academic departments. The School is immensely proud of all those students who have worked hard to fulfil their academic potential over the last two years. I know I speak for all the teachers in saying that it has been a privilege to support them and that we wish them well for the future.”

Head of Sixth Form Mr Matthew Doggett said: “Following today’s A Level and BTEC results, alongside those in the International Baccalaureate, the vast majority of Worth leavers have secured a place at one of their chosen universities, with a clear majority securing their first-choice university. Congratulations to all our Year 13 leavers.”
