Worth’s equestrian team produced some super performances when competing in the latest National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) showjumping competition earlier this month.
Eva competed individually in both the 50 and 60cm class. There was no placing as she had an unlucky pole down in both classes but she rode really well on her new young horse. Claudia, meanwhile, competed individually in the 70cm for a great double clear in good time gaining her eighth place.
The 80cm team unfortunately ended up with only three in the team as Tom’s pony was unable to compete due to lameness. Libby, Claudia and Maddie all rode super rounds but each had one unlucky pole so there was no placing.
Maddie also competed individually in the 90cm and while there was no placing she rode a really good round nonetheless.
With the school summer holidays about to start, the team is planning to get together for training ready for competitions in the autumn.

Horse riding is also offered at Worth through the activities programme. Whether an experienced rider or a beginner, pupils can develop their horse riding skills at the Woody Riding Centre in West Hoathly under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
