Year 12 students undertook a range of service, outreach and leadership roles on the 10th annual Worth in the Community Day, including providing a day of entertainment for visiting primary schools, collecting food donations for a homeless charity and carrying out jobs for a local church.
More than 250 primary school children came on to campus for a day of activities which included art, drama, music, sport and Forest School.
A group of students also ran a car wash to raise money for CAFOD and another worked on a farm conservation project at Worth, carrying out beehive inspections at our new apiary.
Offside activities included collecting food donations at Sainsbury’s in Crawley for Crawley Open House, a charity which supports homeless and those in need in the area. The students collected a remarkable 24 crates of donations.
Another group spent time undertaking gardening jobs for St Richard’s Church in Crawley, while others helped Brighton Table Tennis Club at their open afternoon event at the Wellspring Community in Crawley.
Service is one of the six key values which are embedded in everyday life at Worth and we believe these values are fundamental to the formation of who we become. Worth in the Community Day is an opportunity for students to give back to the community.
