“Worth showed me a new perspective on life focusing not only on performance, but also community, support and values to live by.” This is what one student told us as he reflected on this summer’s excellent IB Diploma results for the School.
In the second of a series of articles looking back on this summer’s impressive Sixth Form results for the School, we spoke to five students about their results, how Worth helped them, their time at the School and their plans for the future.
Worth is one of the UK’s leading schools for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, with 20 years’ experience and an excellent record of results, with a 10-year average of 36 points including many achieving more than 40 points, which is equivalent to 4 A* grades at A Level.
Congratulations to all of our 2026 IB Diploma cohort on their results. Please read on to hear what these five students had to say and look out for another A Level case studies story in the next few days.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? Maths AA HL 7, Chemistry HL 7, Physics HL 7, English A SL 6, French B SL 7, Economics SL 7, plus the two core points for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay, so 43 out of 45 in total.
How did you feel when you got your results? Very happy. It’s a strange moment, because two years of work comes down to a few numbers on a screen. I had worked hard towards the goal of having good grades, so it was good to see that pay off. Once I had seen how it had gone, what I mostly felt was gratitude towards the people who helped me get there.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? In two ways. First, the teachers. Classes are small enough that they notice when something hasn’t landed and the follow-up after that is genuinely personal. You get targeted feedback and if it still isn’t clicking you can always go back for extra explanation outside lessons. Second, the boarding house gives you a rhythm. When everyone around you is working through prep, you end up working too. And as Head of House in Rutherford I had other responsibilities on top of my own work, so I learned quickly that putting things off wasn’t an option.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I loved it. For me it was mainly the friendships and the sense of community. I was a full boarder and often stayed at school over the weekends, so you get to know people in a way you never would if you went home every night. That’s what stays with me, not the exams.
What are you hoping to do next? I’m going to study engineering at KU Leuven. In the Belgian system you don’t choose your specialisation until after the first year, so I’m keeping that open until I know what I enjoy most.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I achieved a result of 38 points. I took higher level Maths AI in which I got a 5, Economics and English in which I got a 6. I also took standard level Psychology in which I got a 7, Chemistry in which I got a 6 and German A in which I got 6.
How did you feel when you got your results? I was extremely happy when I got my results especially because I wasn’t expecting these kinds of results.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? The support and encouragement the teachers offered help me to believe that I could achieve those kinds of results. In addition, some teachers also took extra time to answer all my many questions and helped me organise my revision.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I truly enjoyed my time at Worth whether that was inside or outside the classroom. I particularly enjoyed being part of team sports and the hockey season was one of my highlights at Worth. Worth has offered me many opportunities for which I am extremely grateful. I have made many memories, tried new things and met so many incredible people which I will never forget. Worth has offered me a second home and it will always be a special place which I love to go back to.
What are you hoping to do next? This coming year I decided to do a gap year where I will be working and traveling. Next year I will be studying Psychology, but it is still unclear at which university.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Physics, Maths Analysis and Approaches and English B as my Higher Levels, in which I got all 7s. I took Economics, Global Politics and German A as my Standard Levels, in which I got all 6s. This, with two bonus points, brings my total score up to 41.
How did you feel when you got your results? When I got my results, I felt relieved that all the work during the two years of my IB had paid off. I was especially happy that I got 7s in Maths and Physics because these were by far the most difficult subjects that I have taken in the IB, and those were the subjects I spent most of my time studying.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth really helped to achieve good grades through a great community. This includes the competent teachers who were personally engaged in the journey of each student, but also the peers. I think this especially applies in boarding, where you are always surrounded by others who have the same subjects or older pupils who could help you when you had a question.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I greatly enjoyed my time at Worth, because it offers so much more than a typical school. For me, it was always about trying out something new like rugby, clay shooting or debating, where you always meet new people as well. And for anyone still undecided whether they should do boarding or be a day student, the most fun part of the school day only starts after school finishes. Like playing football on the Astro, going to the gym or beating your mate in a game of tennis.
What are you hoping to do next? At the start of October this year, I will start a bachelor’s course at the Technical University of Munich in Physics.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Maths AI, German B and History at HL, and Biology, English and Business at SL. I achieved 7s in every subject, with a total of 43 points.
How did you feel when you got your results? I was very pleased with my results, which reflected the hard work and dedication I put in over the two years of the IB. They created a very positive note on which to end my experience at Worth.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? The teaching staff at Worth are extremely dedicated and supportive, allowing you to hand in work for feedback consistently and providing valuable insights into your current work. However, teachers at Worth also know when to let you work independently, something that massively helped me study in the way that works best for me and contributed greatly to my exam results. In addition, the house spirit and dedication to sport created an atmosphere that made learning feel less like a chore.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? My time at Worth since Year 11 has been extraordinary and going there was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made. I met a wide range of people and tried many new things. The nature of a boarding school was a great experience, but also a challenge at times, acting as an amazing opportunity for me to grow and become who I am today. I will forever be grateful to all those who contributed to this experience, both staff and students.
What are you hoping to do next? I am currently taking a gap year, working as an EMT in Munich in order to gain valuable practical work experience. I hope to study medicine in the UK or Germany next.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Biology HL, Economics SL, Business HL, Maths IA SL, German A SL and English B HL. I got a 7 in every subject except for Maths and Economics in which I both scored a 6. I achieved an overall score of 42.
How did you feel when you got your results? I was incredibly relieved when I saw my results and overcome with immense joy, because my results enabled me to pursue my dream career in Germany. It was also very pleasing to see that all the hard work and the long hours I had to put in the last two years were worth it and overall I was very pleased with my results.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth helped me to discover my own strengths and they did this by offering a huge amount of support. The teachers were always there for any academic problem I had and always invested a lot of time and patience in order to help me get my head around it. Additionally, the whole setting at Worth, especially the community and the work ethic of everyone around me encouraged me to go to greater lengths in order to achieve a good result. I was immersed in a community of support, motivation and, last but not least, a lot of empathy towards any type of problem, whether it be academic or of another nature.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I think it is safe to say that my three years at Worth have not only been the most enjoyable years of my life, they have also been the most eventful and interesting years of my life. Worth showed me a new perspective on life focusing not only on performance, but also community, support and values to live by. Worth not only enables their students to grow strong relationships, but it also enables them to discover their own potential and grow to be better versions of themselves every day.
What are you hoping to do next? I am going to the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich to start studying Medicine from October 2026 onwards.
