Worth School sent a record number of students to the latest Model United Nations Conference and we were delighted to win the ‘Best Delegation’ award for a second time.
Model United Nations is growing in popularity at Worth and 17 students from Years 7 to 13 represented the School at last Saturday’s conference at Reigate Grammar School. To be awarded ‘Best Delegation’ for the general assembly was a significant achievement.
Mr Will Warwick, who runs the MUN Society at Worth, said: “One of our three delegations represented the United States and were awarded best delegation, which was a superb achievement and the second time in a year that Worth has won this prestigious accolade. I was very proud and impressed by all our students taking part for their diplomacy, teamwork and hard work throughout the day; they were a real credit to the School.”
MUN conferences are a simulation of the United Nations for pupils in schools and higher education. They provide a great opportunity to develop research skills and public speaking abilities.
